What is the main cause of hypotension?
Hypotension- Low Blood pressure (BP)

Blood-Pressure Monitor |
'Systolic' refers to the pressure in the blood vessels during the heartbeat. We have heard many people saying that 'I have low BP (Hypotension)'. There is also an opinion that it is not a big problem. Pressure builds up on the inner walls of blood vessels during blood flow. When that pressure is more than the requirement, it is called 'Hypertension' and when it decreases, it is called 'Hypotension'.
Standing up after sitting or lying down for a long time can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure. This problem called 'Postural Hypotension' (Postural Hypotension) is seen more. It is estimated that 17-31% of the population may have this type of low blood pressure (Hypotension)
Symptoms...
1) Dizziness
2) Fainting feeling
3) Increased heart rate
4) Dizziness when sitting, sleeping and standing up
Self check up!
You can buy a device called a 'sphygmomanometer' to check your blood pressure at home. It has two measurements `Systolic' and `Diastolic'.
'Systolic' refers to the pressure in the blood vessels during the heartbeat. 'Diastolic' refers to the pressure between heartbeats. A systolic value below 90 and a diastolic value below 60 is low blood pressure
Focus on self-examination:
1) Continuous BP monitoring should be done at regular intervals on every day. (Try to test on same timing everyday for accuracy)
2) Do not test when there is an urge to urinate.
3) Do not take the test immediately after caffeine intake, Take test at-least half an hour after drinking coffee or tea.
4) Relax for at least 5 minutes before testing and then test.
5) Cross-legged and cross-legged positions should also not be tested. Sit with both feet flat on the floor.
6) Test should be done in sitting position. The test should be done with the arm resting on a table or chair.
Reasons...
Low blood pressure in the body, people who are resting due to fever, ill health, dehydration due to not drinking enough water, vomiting, diarrhoea, any infection, pregnancy, any heart problem, nerve related problems, people who have suffered from diabetes for many years can have low blood pressure. .
This problem can be solved only if the cause of low blood pressure is identified and corrected. Therefore, if symptoms appear or blood pressure is low on self-examination, it is necessary to immediately consult a doctor. Self-medication should be avoided as both high blood pressure and low blood pressure have some common symptoms.
